What "scaled" means
There are several versions of the exam, and some may be slightly harder than others. Scaling evens that out, so 720 means the same level of skill whichever version you sit. Anthropic doesn't publish a rule like "72% correct", so don't plan around a raw percentage.
The pass mark itself came from a standard-setting study, where experts judged what a minimally qualified candidate should be able to do.
What your score report shows
- Pass or fail.
- Your scaled score, from 100 to 1,000.
- The percentage you answered correctly in each of the five domains.
Only the total scaled score decides the result. The domain percentages are there to show you where you're strong and where to study next.
Why every domain still matters
Domain 1 carries the most weight at 27%, and Domain 5 the least at 15%, but a weak domain still pulls the total down. Aim for steady, well-reasoned answers everywhere rather than a high score in one area. The five domains and their weights are on the exam guide.
Appeals
If you have a concern about your result, you can appeal through Pearson VUE support within 14 days of your exam date. The pass mark and the content of individual questions can't be appealed. Retake rules are in cost and retakes.
