CCA-F vs CCAR-F: are they the same exam?

Yes. CCAR-F is the official exam code for Claude Certified Architect – Foundations, and CCA-F is the shorter name many people use. There is one exam, one blueprint and one credential.

Where each name comes from

Anthropic's exam guide lists the code as CCAR-F. That's the code you'll see when you register on the Anthropic Partner Academy and book with Pearson VUE.

CCA-F comes from the initials of the title, Claude Certified Architect, plus F for Foundations. It's easier to say and type, so it shows up in posts, course titles and search.

Which name should you use?

  • Registering, booking or contacting support: use CCAR-F, the official code.
  • On your résumé or LinkedIn: write the full title, Claude Certified Architect – Foundations. It reads better than either code.
  • Searching for study material: try both. Material labelled either way covers the same exam, as long as it follows the official blueprint.

What the exam covers

60 questions in 120 minutes across five domains: agentic architecture, tool design and MCP, Claude Code configuration, prompt engineering and structured output, and context management and reliability. You need 720 out of 1,000 to pass. The full exam overview.
