Who can take the Claude Certified Architect exam?

The exam is offered through the Anthropic Partner Academy, so it's taken by people at organizations in the Claude Partner Network. If your company is a member, you register with your work account; if it's joining, you can start preparing now.

Why it runs through the Partner Academy

Anthropic runs its partner training, the official prep courses and the certification itself on the Partner Academy. The exam guide's registration steps start there, and the price at checkout depends on your organization's partner tier.

Who the exam is designed for

Anthropic describes the ideal candidate as a solution architect who builds production applications with Claude, with roughly six months of hands-on work across:

  • the Claude Agent SDK (agents, subagents, hooks)
  • Claude Code (CLAUDE.md, skills, MCP servers, plan mode)
  • MCP tool and resource design
  • prompts that produce reliable structured output
  • context management, CI pipelines, and escalation and reliability decisions

That's a description of the target, not a hard requirement. People with less experience do pass, usually by building small projects while they study.

How to get started

  • Your company is a member: sign in to the Partner Academy, take the free Claude Certified Architect – Foundations Prep Courses, then register for the exam.
  • Your company is joining: start with the official prep courses and hands-on practice now, so you're ready when registration opens to you.
  • You're not sure: ask whoever manages your company's Anthropic relationship whether you're in the Claude Partner Network.

What to bring on exam day

A valid government photo ID whose name matches your registration exactly. If you need accommodations, have them approved by Pearson VUE before you book. Registration and policies.
